SE Phase 6

The marketing strategy for our business is to get as many kids as we can hold in our shelter as possible. We will use word of mouth, media, and posters to get the word out. All of our shelters will have a front desk right when you walk in and that is where we will operate everything for that shelter. We will need lots of wood, cement, brick, carpet, paint, etc. to build the living arena. From there we will add fun stuff in it like I mentioned earlier in the project like different types of floors for different types of activities. We will also have two managers for each place. The managers must get along or we will need to replace them. We will probably have about 50 staff members doing the tougher jobs then about 200 volunteers doing easier jobs throughout the week. There will be a new schedule posted each week for the jobs needed to be done and who needs to fulfill the requirements of that certain job.

Phase 4 SE Project

Packing Up Child Abuse is hoping to start building their first shelter sometime later this week. The building will have 6 floors all with different functions on each floor. The first floor will be the dining hall. This is where the kids will be able to eat and get snacks throughout the day and at mealtimes. The second floor will have a gym. The gym will contain workout equipment, a swimming pool, and a rock climbing wall. There will also be basketball hoops and such for all the different sports. The third floor will be where the girls stay. It will have their beds and clothes. The fourth floor is where the boys will stay. It will also have their beds and clothes. The fifth floor will be the media floor. It will have a movie theater and TVs so the kids can go and relax. It will also have computers if the kids need to go and do their school work.  The sixth and final floor will be a counseling center. There will be counselors there 24/7 so if the kids ever need to go somewhere quiet or to be alone they can go to the fifth floor. The kids will continue to go to their school however. We will have small buses to take the children to their schools and bring them back each afternoon. Although this will take a lot of workers, soon enough our business will  grow and prosper.

Phase 2

Vision: Kids feel safer and have a nice place to stay. The kids can come once they have been reported from being abused is noticeable that abuse was actually taking place. (Since there is only so much room for all of the children)

Mission: Reduce the amount of children being abused. We want to help the kids who really need it and have been suffering for a while.

Objective: “Rescue” as many children being abused as possible. We want to help as many kids as possible but we are limited due to our budget, volunteers, and space in the shelter. Although, as time goes on and more people find out about the organization, it will be able to raise more money quicker and get more volunteers so the foundation can grow and we can help even more children.

Activities: We will be providing a stable living center for all children suffering from child abuse. We will have parties, field trips, and extracurricular activities to be done there.

Entrepreneurship

"Social entrepreneurship is the process of pursuing innovative solutions to social problems. More specifically, social entrepreneurs adopt a mission to create and sustain social value." (Google)

I think social entrepreneurship is a great act do to the fact it provides many more options and ways for people to go about doing things. I think that when social entrepreneurs step up and complete their goal, or minimize the issue they're working on to improve, it benefits everyone. It makes less things that are needed to worry about. (Ex: Scott Harrison and the water) I think it's a great thing but I don't know how you would pick what you would like to improve on in the world. There are so many crisis's that it would be hard to chose.
Danae Ringleman:Co-Founder of Indiegogo which is an organization that strives to make customer service better so that clients are happier .She started out as a security analyst wokring with entertainment companies.  " Danae is focused on driving total customer satisfaction and steering the company's employee culture and value initiatives."
*I could help this organization by writing to them about each place i go to and how the service there was.
Evan Shapiro: President of Participant Television and Pivot. He started out as President of the IFC TV and the Sundance Channel. "Evan is responsible for the conception, development, and production of original television programming that will follow the company’s model of commercial and socially relevant entertainment." *I could help this organization by paying closer attention to the commercials to know what they mean so I get more information from a reliable company/source.
Akaya Windwood: Rockwood Leadership Institute- which encourages leadership of everyone. She started it because she wanted her community to be a better place. *I could help this organization by also setting out to make my community a better place by talking to people about what ways that we can improve the community and leading it into a new, more powerful direction.

If I had to become a social entrepreneur, I would definetley do something that interests me so I have motivation to do it more and not get bored of it. I woulld first take a look at all the things I could fix then pick the one that interests me the most and choose that idea to make a difference in the world.

The iPhone 5s has just recently been released this past winter. It has new applications that the 4, 4s, 5, or 5c has. For example, instead of setting a pass code with numbers or letters to get into your phone, you can sync your fingerprint into the phone. This is called Touch ID and it means all you have to do is put your fingerprint on the home button and it will unlock your cell phone. The phone can hold up to three different fingerprints and all will unlock the phone. Also, the rear camera is improved for clearer images. The iPhone 5s is available in white, black, or gold.  The phone is available as a 16, 32, or 64gb and each is more expensive since it has more storage.

What makes a presentaion

What makes a good presentation? What makes a good presentation in my opinion is you should be well prepared, have all requirements for the presentation, and make eye contact with the audience. While presenting, you also should make sure you aren't talking too fast and aren't panting during the middle of it because you're so nervous that you run out of breath. In a good presentation, you should connect with your audience.
While presenting, you should have all of the materials you need with you. You should not be running all over the place because you forgot a prop or something. You should know what slide is coming next in your power point. And, you should be prepared for any type of question the audience might have at the end of your presentation.
If you're doing a presentation in school, you want to make sure you receive the grade you deserve. Once you finish your presentation it is very important that you check over it a few times so there are no bugs or errors in it.
While you're standing infront of everyone presenting, it is important that you do not get too nervous and start talking really fast because you will run out of breath and then you will start panting. Make sure you practice a few times before you do this; it is never a good idea to just wing something because it could turn out really badly.
If you follow all these tips and are confident in your presentation, you should be just fine. And, that is what makes a presentation good in my opinion.
